Ethics Workshops Currently Offered by
Rossiter & Associates

» Jump to schedule of upcoming workshops «

The Texas Engineering Practice Act now mandates a Continuing Education Program (CEP). All license holders require 15 Professional Development Hour (PDH) units of continuing education annually as a condition of license renewal. There is also a requirement that a minimum of 1 PDH per renewal period must be "in the area of professional ethics, roles and responsibilities of professional engineering, or review of the Texas Engineering Practice Act and Board Rules." In general, 1 PDH is equivalent to one clock hour or contact hour of CEP activity. The material covered must be "relevant to the practice of a technical profession and may include technical, ethical, or managerial content."

All Rossiter & Associates Ethics Programs are designed to satisfy the CEP "ethics" requirements and count towards the overall 15 PDH requirement.

Engineering Ethics: 2012 Home Study Options

This program is our new Engineering Ethics seminar for 2012. It includes Enforcement Actions of the Texas Board of Professional Engineers for 2011, together with an updated review of the "Seven Principles of Professional Excellence". If you enjoyed "In Search of Professional Excellence" or any of the previous annual "Engineering Ethics" seminars, this course is for you!
Certificates of participation provided for 2 PDH credit.

If you can't attend an event in person, we also offer several home study courses available either by e-mail or on a CD-ROM. Examples include:
The Professional Excellence Home Study Course (4 PDH): why people work - motivation in the workplace - foundations of professional excellence - 7 elements of professional excellence - ethics basics - codes of ethics for engineers - ethics case studies - reported enforcement actions under the Texas Engineering Practice Act and Board Rules.
They Did What in 2011? (1 PDH): The sixth annual update of the popular "They Did What?" course, this home study module examines reported violations of the Texas Engineering Practice Act and Board Rules, and associated enforcement actions, in 2011. It includes enforcement actions related to unlawful representation as a Texas licensed professional engineer, failure to maintain registration requirements of an engineering firm, failure to notify change of employment, misleading representations, lack of care & diligence, unlawful practice of engineering, failure to act as a faithful agent and to act respectfully, and inappropriate use of an engineering seal.
Certificates of completion for PDH credit will be mailed upon receipt of your completed answer sheet.
